I’m certain all of my family’s Christmas traditions revolve in some sort of way around procrastination. Growing up Santa pictures and mall shopping were both made for Christmas eve morning. Tree decorating took place around December 20.
My mom always found some sort of calm in shopping and decorating down to the wire, and I can’t say I blame her. The wait almost always resulted in great sales, short lines and a productive finish line for the season.
These days, I’m far more likely to squeeze every once out of the season possible. Our tree goes up the Sunday after Thanksgiving and gifts are ordered from the comfort of my couch bit by bit throughout December. With the handiness of internet gifting, I thought I’d share a few of my favorites for the season, all under $30.
1. Quartz earrings from Made.
I had the pleasure of meeting Stacy at the Indie Craft Experience this summer and hear the story of her beautiful Arkansas quartz creations. When I got home, kicking myself that I only bought one pair, she was gracious enough to shoot over pictures of everything left from the show and allow me to purchase a few. Her prices are beyond reasonable and shipping is a breeze.

2. Artifact Uprising calendars and prints
This may be the first Instagram ad that I feel in love with. After seeing Artifact Uprising advertising their photo books in my feed a few weeks ago, I was hooked. While their photo books may be above the $40 price point (but still very reasonable), their calendars and photo prints with wooden stands are super affordable and make a great “this looks like I DIY-ed it” gift.

3. H&M Home Accessories
Did you guys know H&M has a home line? They do and the pieces take a modern, romantic touch on Pottery Barn style at H&M prices. This candlestick and festive dish towel are two must haves.

4. Anthropologie Gold Monogram Mug
The cousin to the trusty Anthro monogram mug in black and white, this little update with gold touches is limited edition and oh so cute. At $10, everyone should own at least one.

5. Humans of New York: Stories
If you don’t already read HONY on a regular basis, change that. Even if you do, this book is filled with fresh stories that will restore your faith in humanity on every page.
